Roy as a professional Government Scientist has conceptualized, catalyzed and monitored more than three hundred R&D projects funded by the Government in Universities, Institutes and Colleges for the last fifteen years producing hundreds of papers, patents and PhD personnel serving all over the world. He has been cited in the book entitled 'Dynamics of Tropical Communities', ISBN 0-521-83999-8, edited by D.M. Newbery, N.D.Brown, H.T. Prins and N.R.Webb and published by the Blackwell, and the Cambridge University Press, U.K. (1998), for his work that has been published in the British 'Journal of Ecology' in 1994. His article on the consequences of global climate change on afforestation in dry tropics that appeared in the Journal 'Current Science', has been included and archived in the 'Archives of Global Climate Change Digest' (Volume 6, No 3, March 1993), published by the United States Global Change Research Information Office of the Govt. of United States. Further, all of his books and other publications are universally referred and cited in a number of books, journals and websites. Felicitated for his outstanding contributions to promote Scientific research & education and for enrichment of literature in ecology and antiquity, at the 'National Seminar on Biotechnology in Human Health and Environment', at Anandram Jaipuria College in 2018. Delivered lead Lecture at the National Symposium on 'Recent Advances on Floricultur and Urban Horticulture in Global Perspective' at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya in 2018. Delivered Valedictory lecture at the International Conference 'India Biodiversity Meet' at Indian Statistical Institute in 2018.
